Background Check
One of the problems you have with potential candidates you interview for various positions in your organization is that you have no way of knowing whether what they say is false or not. you mean, there is only such an amount of information that one can gather about a person. The rest of it is based on an assumption that she/he is telling the truth. But in business, one cannot go on gut instinct alone. This is the reason why a new and unique service has come into being that offers background checks. The firms that offer such a service are classified as background check companies. They offer details about persons or corporations and help you get details about the background of those entities. In other words background check firms provide a service close to that provided by private investigators. While private investigators need a license to operate, background check firms don’t need any such thing. While private investigators use their contacts in law enforcement to reveal details, background check corporations rely on information already available in the public domain. First, background check corporations rely on the annual reports of the companies. This, more often than not reveals a lot more about the people within (especially in senior positions) and in a couple of cases, even their salaries. Other indicators too could be easily found by background check corporations in this manner. Such information collected by background check corporations is especially useful when it comes to mergers and acquisitions or when it goes to senior appointments. Think of the service offered by background check corporations as what fills in the gaps that the individual has in information already provided to you. But there is a fine line between the service offered by background check corporations and snooping or invasion of privacy. In cases, when someone has made use of background check firms to discover more about a competing company, it has come under the purview of industrial espionage. Privacy laws have gotten more powers recently and conducting background checks is not anymore easy or feasible.
